CEO — Maria Locker
Maria Locker is the Founder & CEO of Mompreneur Showcase Group Inc. (aka RevolutionHER) and its properties, including RevolutionHER Momentum Enterprise of Canada, RevolutionHER Magazine, The Annual Mompreneur® Awards, and The Annual National RevolutionHER Conference.
Maria earned her BA from The University of Guelph in 2002 with a focus on Languages and International Business, and her B.Ed. from Lakehead University in 2004. With a supportive husband, Maria left her teaching career to be at home with her two children, which led her back to her entrepreneurial roots as she did some freelance marketing. This spark was rekindled further when she began connecting with other moms and women who were also running their own businesses while keeping a grasp on family life. She found a common bond, and decided to form RevolutionHER based on the premise that business and personal lives aren’t necessarily interchangeable, and that it is possible to have a successful business and a thriving family life without sacrificing one for the other.
She attributes every success to the unending support and encouragement she has received from her family, friends, and colleagues, and hopes to be an inspiration to her children while demonstrating what can be achieved when you have a passion for helping others and doing what you love.
Board Chair – Grace Moores
Grace Moores and her husband emigrated to Canada in 2006 from “dear old blighty” (the UK). After having two wonderful children, Canada is now home. Grace became a mompreneur when her second child was just 5 months old, which is when she founded The Moores Group, a marketing agency that specializes in sponosrships for small businesses with a community based demographic. Grace is a firm believer that together we can achieve so much more. On every adventure or new path taken, there is always someone supporting, inspiring and empowering us along the way; we are all stronger together.
Committee Director — Tessa Kampen
Tessa Kampen is a wife and a mother of 2, and worked as a Dental Assistant for 10 years before claiming the title of ‘mompreneur’. Her passion for helping others succeed in business has led to her being recognized as one of Guelph’s top Forty under Forty in 2015. She believes that we are all born leaders and we all have the potential to achieve greatness with the right support and tools.
Tessa has always been very independent and focus-driven. Her ability to connect with women and help them “think outside the box”, as well as her strong leadership skills, have helped shaped the woman she is today. She is dedicated to connecting and collaborating with other groups in the city and is a huge supporter and advocate of her local community and the businesses within it.
Her mission is to make the community aware of all the talented women who work hard both at home and at their respective businesses. With a vibrant, growing, historic community, she looks forward to sharing the talents and successes of collective members and all they have to offer.
