Here’s to you for surviving the first round of back to school and back to work routines! It’s been a whirlwind of online learning, summer chaos, and all kinds of ups and downs this year so far… that is at least one thing we can all agree on.
The COVID-19 pandemic has been hard on women especially, as most of us are also the main caregivers, be it our children or aging parents. RBC did a study from March 2020 to Oct 2020, and found that at the start of the pandemic, 60,000 women left the workforce, while 20,000 men actually joined the workforce. With back to school starting, we are now seeing a lot of women returning to work or exploring different options entirely.
Women who have the support from an inner circle of other women are 3 times likely to succeed in finding better work, whether as a business owner or to advance their careers. Now, more than ever, we need to boost morale and feel supported.
Support the Women Around You
- Cheer on some friends by commenting positively on their social media posts
- Provide encouragement for others to take the next steps towards success
- Celebrate the wins – yours and those of others – no matter how small
- Be kind to yourself; talk to yourself the way you would someone you love
