Simple acts of love and acceptance turned into a viral sensation, and Sara knew she had the opportunity to lead impactful change. The Matriarch Movement is a grassroots non-profit organization amplifying Indigenous voices through sharing our stories, as well as through the practices of meditation, movement (yoga), and medicine (reclaiming an Indigenous worldview). In a capitalistic, colonialist, patriarchal society where Indigenous women are often “invisible” or treated as “less than”, sharing our stories, meditation, movement, and medicine is an act of decolonization and reclamation of our bodies, voices, power, and spirit. Reclaiming an Indigenous worldview is for everyone and it is based on three factors - respect, reciprocity and having a relationship based approach. OYA's apparel absorbs moisture, reduces bacteria, and increases natural ventilation. Their OB-GYN tested leggings have antimicrobial mesh panels to increase vaginal ventilation, and a reusable, removable insert in an innovative (patent-pending) crotch gusset that absorbs vaginal moisture. OYA's legging has 16 sewn panels compared to the competitor average of 4-5 sewn panels, and their tops minimize skin irritation by absorbing sweat and ventilating breasts. In the future, OYA's clothing will be made from proprietary materials created from partnerships with labs and SBIR grants. At OYA, the priority is to not only partner with other organizations that prioritize feminine health and wellness, but also to give back to community through charities that support women.

The child of a disabled mother, Daisy was inspired to start Including You because she witnessed kids with disabilities being treated poorly and wanted to create a space where everyone could feel safe, secure and seen. Her digital inclusion efforts began during the height of the pandemic, when students began remote learning and the impact of tech inequity on her friends and classmates became alarmingly clear.
Since founding Including You in 2020, Daisy has matched peer volunteers in 7 states and distributed over 600 devices to help bridge the digital divide. She also interviews people with disabilities and disability allies for her blog, has written several op-eds about bridging the digital divide, and just completed a children’s book about disability and inclusion.
