AUTUMN PELTIER - Anishinaabe Nation Chief Water Commissioner

2021 Finalist - AUTUMN - YouthWINNER

Autumn Peltier is a 16 year-old Anishinaabe Environmental Activist for the Indigenous People in Canada. She began to use her voice at the age of 8 to bring awareness about boil water advisories on Indigenous communities, bringing attention to the fact that there were Indigenous communities that didn’t have clean water for over 25 years, and that even though Canada is a resource wealthy country, her people lived in third world conditions. She continues to be a voice for change.
